Overview

FreezeFest is RIT's annual 2-week campus festival for students to make college memories. Each year, a new brand guide is designed by students under the College Activities Board. I designed promotional materials across multiple platforms, including an event promo and an event schedule listing all of our events.

The Challenge

Working within strict brand guidelines (a yeti mascot, linear organic shapes, icicle-like jagged lines, and a set color palette and font) while still creating captivating compositions was a challenge. I also needed to be conscious of what visuals accurately represented the message and made students excited to participate.

The Solution

By using an overall round shape language and a gentle coloring style, I created a fun, welcoming design. Rather than treating type and visuals as separate components, I integrated them so that the text and imagery existed in harmony, creating more dynamic and engaging compositions.
