Overview

Miumi is a personal project where I explore a cute, round, colorful, and playful illustration style. This project visualizes a gerbil community living their best teeny-tiny lives, featuring the mundane moments. With the intentional details, I capture the coziness of little creatures going about their day, inviting viewers to delightful interactions hidden throughout the canvas.

The Challenge

The challenge was creating compositions that cleverly showed the gerbil lifestyle. I wanted viewers to feel the joy of daily life in this gerbil town, the little interactions and small moments that make you smile, while filling each scene with maximalist detail that rewards closer looks.

The Solution

I started by reflecting on my past work to understand my creative habits, then gathered inspiration from artwork that captured the energy and joy I wanted to evoke. I sketched rough compositions, vaguely based on original reference photos, and refined them through iteration.
